The Farmhouse: A rescue, a shelter, a bit of organized chaos.

The Farmhouse isn’t your typical shelter. It’s a bit wilder than that. Dogs, cats, humans, and trees all trying to live together without stepping on each other too much — emotionally or literally.

We’re not into fenced-in lives. Our animals roam, nap in the sun, steal each other’s food, and slowly learn how to trust again. I care a lot about their emotional wellbeing — a calm, stable dog can handle almost anything: a new house, a new human, even a new country.

It’s definitely not perfect. But it’s real. And for these animals, it’s home — until they find their next one.

How this all got out of hand: A backstory

One woman, too many animals, zero regrets (almost).
The Farmhouse started as a temporary solution and accidentally became alive. It’s not a polished shelter — it’s a bit of land, some handmade spaces, and a bunch of animals figuring things out with me. I didn’t plan to start a rescue, I just couldn’t walk away. Now it’s part chaos, part healing — for them and for me.

Replies may take a bit — we’re usually outside managing the chaos, chasing someone who just stole my shoe or dealing with whatever today’s crisis is. But we always read them. And we do get back to you — eventually.
