The Farmhouse: A shelter, a behavior space— with a bit of chaos.
The Farmhouse started as a rescue and a shelter.
It was a temporary solution for animals affected by the 2023 earthquake in Antakya.
What began as temporary, then evolved beyond its original form into something ever-changing—a place where both the dogs and I learn as we go.
Now, the Farmhouse is a place for animals with traumatic backgrounds to settle, unlearn, and rebuild. It demands constant adjustment and change, as we commit mistakes daily.
Most of the work is behavioral — helping dogs reset, stabilize, and adapt.
It’s something that requires ongoing learning, adjustment, and structure.
It’s never constant, and that’s part of what makes it work. Every day brings new challenges and problems, but there are also small wins that make it worth it.
Here, at the Farmhouse, we believe a calm, stable dog can handle almost anything. So, before anything else, we try to build healthy minds.

The Meow & Mayhem Taskforce currently has 12 residents. We’ll open support and adoption for them soon.
Help needed
We are currently looking for volunteers with experience working with dogs or a strong willingness to learn.
For on-site support in Mersin, we need people who can help with:
Walking and handling dogs
Basic training and socialization
Daily care and interaction
Experience with dogs is important, but a background in farm work, maintenance, or hands-on tasks is also highly valuable.
